ANDERSON

PT 172

The next little village west of Granville is Anderson. The main feature of the area is the short stretch of mainline that parallels RT 103. The PT 172 signals and the Anderson DED are easily seen from the side of the road.

PT 170.9 - Anderson Rd Crossing

A nice straight away from Granville to Anderson can be seen from the Anderson Rd crossing.

1) Westbound 23W is about the cross Anderson Rd.
2) Westbound 923 shows us how unit trains look awesome on straightaways. (Both photos by Dan Hauck)

PT 172.1 - PT 172 PRR Signals and 172.3 DED

The mainline trackage that parallels RT 103 allows some interesting photo opportunities. The PRR PL signals at PT 172 are set along the road and can be viewed from both sides of the mainline thanks to a farm road crossing. The Anderson DED is just a couple thousand feet to the west of the signals.

1) Westbound 593 splits the PT 176 signals at Anderson.
2) Westbound I3W (extra 23W) parallels RT 103 in Anderson. (Photo by Josh Hollands)
3) Westbound 23M passes an iconic American farmhouse near PT 172.

1) Eastbound 04T splits the PT 172 signals on a dreary day in winter.
2) Eastbound 20K passes the DED at Anderson... just look at that background! (Photos by Josh Hollands)
