ARDENHEIM

PT 200

RT 22 tightly follows the mainline through Ardenheim. Two long straights separated by one curve make for some very dramatic photo angles. New PT 200 signals have replaced the old PRR ones, but still make for interesting props.

PT 199.5 - The First Straight

Jacobs St connects RT 22 to river front properties in the area. The crossing of the mainline is a good spot to park and photograph this first straight.

1) Westbound 67Z is seen at the Jacobs St crossing with the mountains looming in the background.
2) Have a Eastbound shot at Jacobs St? Email us at admin@parailfan.com

PT 200.2 - The Second Straight and 200 Signals

Parking along RT 22 and using a telephoto lens, one can take some interesting photos. There is good potential for interesting video if one is pacing a train along RT 22 (please let your friend take photos and video if YOU are driving!)

1) Eastbound 68Q exemplifies how a unit train on the straight away looks awesome!
2) Eastbound 955 splits the PT 200 signals which are along Rt 22. (Tony Kimmel)

PT 201.5 - RT 22 Overpass

Just east of downtown Huntingdon, RT 22 crosses over the mainline. A couple of S-curves in this area make for some good photography. Please be careful on the side of RT 22.

1) Westbound 951 negotiates the S-curve and rock cuts just east of Huntingdon.
2) Eastbound 955 accelerates out of Huntingdon. (Photos by Tony Kimmel)
30 Eastbound 64J is on track 2. The rock cut is Penn St heading to Huntingdon. (Vince Hammel Jr)
