I decided to walk down to the tracks Saturday morning in hopes of catching 19G, 21M, 11J, and maybe one of the Allentown locals are 262. I missed 19G by about 45 minutes and 18G by about 10 minutes. Luckily 11J and 21M weren't far out of the picture. Witness 21M and 11J both getting ready to knock down clear signals at CP-Bethlehem at 9:18AM and 9:31AM respectively. |

After these two I decided to head back up to school. In the early afternoon I read on the Lehigh Line Yahoo Group that I62 came into Bethlehem with a BNSF GP50 trailling. This motivated me enough to take another walk down to the tracks. My first stop was CP-88 where I found a small group of railfans. We made small talk while catching a few trains. It wasn't until 13T had to take headroom into CP-Bethlehem in order to back his train into the receiving yard in Allentown, that we noticed something was going on. The engineer of 13T kindly leaned out of the window and informed us that there was a derailment on the hump over in Allentown. Over the river and through the woods we went to the yard. Here's what we found: |

On our way back to CP-88 from the hump, we swung into CP-JU to shoot the BNSF GP50 3197 from I62. I spent a little more time at CP-88 before heading back up to school. Here's 39G taking head room at CP-Bethlehem and CP-88 in order to back his train into the receiving yard at Allentown. I'm not exactly sure when the derailment was cleaned up. All Saturday night they were parking inbound trains on either the layoff track or the River Yard in Bethlehem. On Sunday afternoon they had M of W workers on tracks one and two of the hump. |
