Monday June 1, 2009
Monday morning started off with nearly three hours of waiting for the first train. When the lull finally broke there were eight trains in about ninety minutes. The action started with 11J and 21M at West Laurel on the Reading Line. NS 34A was held at Tulp and 507 at Wyomissing for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus train. We had tried to find somewhere to get nose light for NS 047, the circus, and came up with this location between Cumru and Leisey on the Harrisburg Line.

After the circus train went west 507, 34A and H33 followed. A late NS 212 came east between 34A and H33. With track work on Reading Line main two between Blandon and Alburtis I chased 212 east from Wyomissing. I arrived a few minutes before the train did and snagged this shot rolling opposite main through Fleetwood.

I got ahead of 212 again for this shot of him coming through Shamrock on the approach to Alburtis. I tried for a fourth shot at Macungie but could not find an angle that I liked before the train rolled through. With not much else in the picture I headed for Bethlehem. There was a lot of trackwork happening on the Lehigh Line as well so the afternoon westbounds were few and far between. The one and only that I caught was H65 returning from the Washington Secondary.
