Photo Submission Guidelines
www.parailfan.com

I really don’t want to be the one to reject photos so I have come up with a few fairly basic guidelines that an image must meet in order to be considered for my website:

  • The photo must be taken in Pennsylvania or of a train that travels through Pennsylvania. After all, my site is called “Railfan Pennsylvania.”
  • The photo must be able to be clearly displayed at a size of 900 x 600 (or close to that). Please do not send me horribly pixilated or oddly cropped images.
If your photo complies with the above standards, then we can move on to the next step. I reserve the right to crop, resize, rotate, sharpen, and adjust color/levels as I see fit. It is preferred that you send photos without any text or copyright information on them. I will add this information in the same way that I have done so to the photo below.

In order to submit a photo, please email me at 'nja@Comcast.net' with the following:
  • The attached photo of size 1024 x [whatever your photo resizes to].
  • The date and location the photo was taken.
  • The train symbol of the train in the photo, if available.
  • Your name as you would like it to appear on the photo.
It is preferred that a photo is well lit, has some sort of location identifier (i.e. a signal, milemarker, bridge, etc.), and is not a roster shot. These will not, however, be reasons for rejection, as long as the photo is not so poorly lit that it degrades the aesthetic quality. Photos of the same train from multiple locations and/or multiple photographers will be considered. All photos will be added at my discretion.

Thank you for your help and I look forward to seeing your photos.
